FULTON FERRY ? Regular visitors to, and residents of, the Fulton Ferry area were surprised that Pete's Downtown restaurant at 2 Water Street, a fixture in the neighborhood since the 1980s, was not only closed but empty.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Department of Transportation Commissioner Janette Sadik-Khan and Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly Thursday released preliminary statistics showing that New York City will record the fewest annual traffic fatalities since records were first kept in 1910.

As of Dec. 27, there were 237 traffic fatalities in 2011, 40 percent fewer than in 2001. Included in the 2011 numbers were 134 pedestrian fatalities in crashes with vehicles, an all-time record-low and a 31 percent reduction

DeKalb Market Will Close New Year?s Eve; Plans To Re-open in Late Spring

The DeKalb Market in Downtown Brooklyn will be closing for the season on Saturday, Dec. 31, and will reopen in late spring, according to Jessica Tolliver, a spokesperson for the operator, Urban Space Management.

?We do not have an exact re-opening date yet,? she said. ?We are currently busy planning for the next season, and there will be lots more fun and interesting things happening at the market in 2012.?

New Owner of Carroll Gardens Building To Move Forward With Condo Plan

The final sale price was $3.65 million, or $401 per square foot, for the 9,106-square-foot building at 116 Third Place, according to the CPEX New York Multi-Family Sales Team members Brian T. Leary, managing partner, and Ira Krivit, associate director.

Leary and Krivit represented the seller, TD Bank N.A, and procured the buyer, a local investor who intends to finalize the condo plan and then sell the individual units.

Nazareth Housing Receives Grant To Help Homelessness Prevention Services

Bushwick 4-Building Portfolio on Market for $19.5M
